On August 3, Counterpoint Research released its latest market monitoring report. Shilpi Jain, a senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, stated in the report that the global smartphone market has entered a new stage where shipment volume is no longer the primary driver of growth. Instead, value growth has become the core of market expansion, and the rising costs of components have further accelerated this trend. Looking ahead, with tight supply and rising costs of memory likely to remain unresolved in the short term, it is expected that OEMs will continue to raise prices. Supply is gradually becoming a key constraint on industry development, and the smartphone industry may face a more serious decline in shipment volume in the second half of 2026. Therefore, it is anticipated that the average selling price (ASP) will continue to rise in the coming quarters.
