Lula will run in the elections again, vying for his fourth presidential term. On the same day, the national congress of the Brazilian Workers' Party was held in So Paulo, where the meeting formally approved Lula and current Vice President Geraldo Alckmin to team up once more for the campaign. The chairman of the Workers' Party, Edino Silva, announced at the meeting that the party had completed the relevant candidate registration work at the Superior Electoral Court.
