On the afternoon of August 2 local time, two firefighting helicopters collided in midair while battling a blaze in the western Attica region of Athens, Greece, resulting in one aircraft crashing and two crew members on board losing their lives. The other helicopter made an emergency landing after the collision, and one of the two people on board sustained injuries.
