On August 2 at 18:00, the Ministry of Water Resources and the China Meteorological Administration jointly issued a red alert for mountain flood disasters: It is expected that from 20:00 on August 2 to 20:00 on August 3, there is a high likelihood of mountain flood disasters occurring in some areas of northeastern Inner Mongolia, northeastern Sichuan, central and southern Chongqing, northern Guizhou, and southeastern Shaanxi. Among these areas, northeastern Sichuan, central Chongqing, and southeastern Shaanxi have a very high likelihood of localized mountain flood disasters. Other regions may also experience mountain flood disasters due to localized short-duration heavy rainfall. Local authorities are advised to pay attention to real-time monitoring, flood prevention warnings, and evacuation measures.
