On August 1, a passenger posted a video claiming that Xiangpeng Airlines served expired instant noodles after a flight was delayed for nearly 4 hours. The flight was originally scheduled to depart from Urumqi Tian Shan Airport to Chengdu Tianfu Airport at 20:45 on the 1st. After the delay, the ground staff provided instant noodles to passengers with packaging that indicated it should be consumed before July 5. A representative from Xiangpeng Airlines customer service informed reporters that the flight delay was due to weather conditions, resulting in a landing in Chengdu 3 hours and 55 minutes late. The meal provided by the ground handling company in Urumqi did not meet standards, and the staff retrieved all meals, confirming that expired food was not consumed by any passengers.
