The National Disaster Reduction and Relief Committee has placed the investigation and assessment of the major mountain flood disaster in Weiyuan County, Gansu Province, under special supervision.

On July 26, 2026, a sudden short-duration heavy rain occurred in the Shuangshimen Gully area of Luojiamo Village, Huichuan Town, Weiyuan County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province, triggering a mountain flood disaster. As of now, it has resulted in 25 deaths and 23 injuries. According to the relevant provisions of the "Interim Measures for the Investigation and Assessment of Natural Disasters," the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee has implemented key supervision over the investigation and assessment of this disaster. It requires the Gansu Provincial People's Government to timely organize disaster investigation and assessment in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and rules, to promote the improvement of disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief capabilities, and to effectively safeguard the life and property safety of the people.
