"China Water Conservation Report 2025" Released

Recently, the Ministry of Water Resources officially released the "China Water Conservation Report 2025" for the first time in both Chinese and English. The report indicates that by 2025, the water consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP will be 42.4 m, and the water consumption per 10,000 yuan of industrial added value will be 22.9 m, representing a decrease of 4.5% and 7.2% respectively compared to 2024; the effective utilization coefficient of irrigation water in farmland will be 0.583, a rise of 0.003 from 2024; the water reuse rate among large-scale industrial enterprises will be 94.7%; the per capita comprehensive water consumption will be 423 m, with per capita domestic water consumption at 182 L/day and per capita residential water consumption at 129 L/day. The requirement of "meticulously managing water resources and strictly ensuring their effective use" has been effectively implemented, leading to further improvements in water efficiency and benefits in our country, as well as the development of a water-saving lifestyle across society.
