The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury bond has reached its highest level since January of last year, accumulating an increase of over 25 basis points in July.
On Friday, at the New York close, the yield on the U.S. 10-year benchmark Treasury bond rose by 6.15 basis points to 4.7347%. This week, it accumulated an increase of 5.76 basis points, and in July, it rose a total of 25.56 basis points, continuing a pattern of steady upward movement, trading within the range of 4.4534% to 4.7450%. As of August 1, 01:47 Beijing time, it approached the January 14, 2025 peak of 4.8069% and the October 23, 2023 peak of 5.0187%. The yield on the two-year Treasury bond increased by 4.53 basis points to 4.2912%, experiencing a short-term rise from around 4.26% to above 4.29% as trading was nearing its end. This week, it fell by a cumulative 3.94 basis points, remaining mostly in a downward trend, though it rose by a total of 11.68 basis points in July, trading within the range of 4.1018% to 4.3683%.
