On July 23, the Emergency Management Department of Guangdong Province announced that the Safety Production Committee of Guangdong Province has issued a letter regarding the supervision and handling of the investigation into the major fire accident in Zengcheng, Guangzhou on July 22. The fire occurred in a shop in Xintang Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, resulting in 5 deaths and 3 injuries. The provincial Safety Production Committee has decided to oversee the investigation and handling of the accident.
