SpaceX reportedly suspends some Falcon 9 launch service bookings to accelerate transition to Starship.

According to informed sources, SpaceX has started refusing satellite operators who hope to obtain exclusive launch services through its main rocket, Falcon 9, after 2028, highlighting Elon Musk's heavy investment in the immature Starship project. One source said that Musk's rocket, satellite, and artificial intelligence giant has also stopped producing some non-reusable components of the Falcon series, such as the rocket's large upper stage. The source also stated that SpaceX is no longer accepting future bookings for Falcon 9 rideshare launch projects, which allow multiple satellite operators to share the same rocket to enter orbit. The source added that SpaceX's plans may still change due to various factors, including potential setbacks in Starship development. Some sources also mentioned that the company may continue to use Falcon 9 for launch missions for the US Department of Defense and NASA in the future.
