Two departments: promote rural energy revolution intensively.

The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Renewable Energy", which mentions enhancing the autonomous energy security capability in rural areas. They will promote the integrated development and utilization of distributed new energy power generation in rural areas in multiple scenarios, encourage the use of biomass power generation and other supportive and adjustable power sources, strengthen the coordinated aggregation management and intelligent control of sources, loads, and storage, promote the non-electrical use of renewable energy according to local conditions, and improve the clean and low-carbon energy level and autonomous security capability in rural areas. They will promote the construction of pilot projects for rural micro-energy networks, upgrade the quality of rural energy infrastructure, establish a long-term development mechanism for rural power grids, build new rural power grids, and comprehensively enhance the capacity of accommodating new energy and ensuring power supply in rural areas. They will actively support the construction of renewable energy heating facilities and heat storage and cooling facilities in rural areas to meet diverse green energy needs.
