In the first half of 2026, the overall operation of the transportation economy remained stable, with key indicators showing growth. The volume of commercial freight, port cargo throughput, and cross-regional passenger flow all continued to increase, providing strong transportation services support for the stable and healthy development of the economy and society. Specifically, in the first half of the year, the volume of commercial freight reached 280.7 billion tons, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year; the national port cargo throughput reached 90.7 billion tons, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year; and the cross-regional passenger flow reached 341.7 billion person-times, an increase of 1.2% year-on-year. In addition, transportation fixed asset investment reached 1.5 trillion yuan, with investments of 1 trillion yuan in roads and 109.9 billion yuan in water transport.
