On July 22, Sun Meijun, the Director of the General Administration of Customs, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that, in the next step, they will promote the Smart Customs Partnership Program, leveraging the advantage of China's leading role in smart customs construction to better serve the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road." The focus will be on accelerating the implementation of the "Artificial Intelligence +" customs action, leading the global customs digital transformation, building a more extensive and efficient interconnection platform, achieving information exchange, mutual recognition of supervision, and mutual assistance in law enforcement to further expand the circle of trading partners, and share the dividends of artificial intelligence brought by it with more countries, especially those in the global south.
