The production of iron ore in the Dongshui River Valley exceeds expectations, maintaining the annual production target.
Brazilian mining giant Vale's production of iron ore, a key raw material for steelmaking, in the second quarter surpassed market expectations, with copper production also increasing simultaneously. In the three months leading up to June 30, the total iron ore production reached 84.26 million tons, a 21% increase compared to the previous quarter and a slight 1% increase year-on-year. Analysts had previously expected production to be 83.84 million tons. Competitor Rio Tinto, after the impact of a cyclone disaster in Australia subsided, produced 88.8 million tons of iron ore during the same period. This major iron ore mining company has maintained its annual iron ore production target unchanged at a range of 335-345 million tons.
