Japanese media: Indian companies are increasingly relying on large AI models from China
According to the website of the Japanese magazine "Nikkei Asia" reported on July 13, Indian companies are increasingly relying on large language models developed by Chinese companies such as Baidu, Alibaba, and Tencent to control their artificial intelligence costs, which increases India's dependence on China in cutting-edge technology. Punit Kumar, CEO of Future Asset Venture Capital, said that since mid-2025, several tech startups he has been in contact with have been using these Chinese open-weight large language models, which helps them reduce costs by "an order of magnitude".
