According to a report from The New York Times, three sources revealed that Meta Platforms (META.O) is in talks to rent out its AI data center computing power to Anthropic in a two-year cooperation agreement with a maximum scale of up to $10 billion. The sources said Anthropic proposed the collaboration in June and Meta is currently assessing the transaction details while still adjusting. Under the agreement, Anthropic will pay Meta in monthly installments over the course of two years and both companies have the right to terminate the agreement early. The computing power procurement scale proposed by Anthropic to Meta this time is only one-third of the contract they signed with SpaceX in May of this year. Insiders say the negotiations are still in the early stages and may not necessarily come to fruition in the end.
