The British government recently announced that England plans to ban the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to children under 16 starting from April 2027, in order to reduce the potential impact of such drinks on the physical and mental health as well as academic performance of children. The related measures still need to be submitted for parliamentary scrutiny. According to the announcement issued by the British government, this ban applies to beverages with a caffeine content exceeding 150 mg per liter, excluding tea and coffee, covering all retail forms such as stores, vending machines, and online retailers. Violating companies will face fines of up to 2500.
