The EU is reportedly set to approve the acquisition of the game giant Electronic Arts.
According to reports, the European Union is about to approve an investment consortium, including the Saudi Public Investment Fund, to acquire popular game developer Electronic Arts (EA), responsible for games such as "Battlefield" and "The Sims." The members of this investment consortium also include Affinity Partners and private equity firm Silver Lake Capital. Sources say that the European Commission is expected to approve this transaction after ending the preliminary review initiated under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation on July 30. Earlier, EA announced in September last year that it had reached a final agreement to be acquired by a consortium of investors consisting of PIF, Silver Lake Capital, and Affinity Partners in an all-cash deal, valuing the company at around $55 billion.
