On July 17, 2026, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Oreshkin, Deputy Director of the Russian Presidential Office, who came to China to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. Wang Yi welcomed Oreshkin's attendance at the conference and the signing of the agreement to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization by the Russian government. Wang Yi said that China and Russia are comprehensive strategic partners in the new era, and the two sides always understand and support each other in international and regional affairs. Russia's participation in the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization demonstrates the high level of China-Russia relations, and it is believed that it will contribute to the organization's future development.
