Mo Jianhua, former member of the Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Yingtan City Government in Jiangxi Province, has been expelled from the party and removed from public office.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission reported on July 17th that, according to the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated an investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Mo Jianhua, former member of the Party Committee and deputy mayor of Yingtan City Government. After investigation, it was found that Mo Jianhua, as a party member and leading cadre, had lost his ideals and beliefs, forgotten his original aspirations and missions, was disloyal and dishonest to the organization, obstructed organizational investigations; disregarded the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulations, accepted gifts and money improperly, participated in banquets and travel activities that could affect the fair execution of official duties; violated organizational principles by making personal decisions on major issues without reporting required personal matters as per regulations, not truthfully explaining issues during organizational inquiries, seeking benefits for others and accepting money in cadre selection and appointment processes; breached the bottom line of integrity by allowing relatives to use his position for personal gain, giving gifts significantly beyond normal social exchanges to individuals engaged in official duties; intervened and interfered in law enforcement activities; had improper family relations, lacking oversight and education over relatives; abused his official position to seek benefits for others in engineering contracts, business operations, and job adjustments, and illegally accepted large sums of money; abused his power, causing significant losses to state-owned assets. Mo Jianhua seriously violated the party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, work discipline, and life discipline, committed serious violations of laws and regulations, and is suspected of bribery and abuse of power crimes, without showing any restraint or stopping since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with serious nature and negative impact, therefore requiring severe consequences. Based on relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Penalties for Public Servants of the People's Republic of China," after discussion at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval from the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, it has been decided to expel Mo Jianhua from the party, dismiss him from public office, revoke his qualifications as a representative at the 15th Party Congress of Jiangxi Province and the 9th Party Congress of Yingtan City, confiscate his illegally obtained assets, and transfer his suspected criminal cases to the procuratorate for investigation and prosecution, along with the transfer of the related properties.
