Latin America's richest man strikes again: Carso acquires a 30% stake in the Gulf of Mexico oil fields from Talos Energy (TTE.US), expanding its oil portfolio.

According to the information obtained from Wise Finance APP, Carlos Slim, the richest man in Latin America, is further expanding his oil portfolio through his Mexican company Grupo Carso SAB. According to documents submitted to the Mexican Stock Exchange on July 16, Carso has reached a binding agreement with French energy giant Total Energies (TTE.US) to acquire a 30% stake in Block 30 offshore oil field area in the Gulf of Mexico. The transaction is subject to approval from the Mexican government.
