Jefferson: Inflation may be difficult to cool down or may require interest rate hikes. AI and energy shocks have put the Federal Reserve in a dilemma.
According to the Wise Finance APP, Philip Jefferson, Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve, stated on Thursday that if inflation cannot cool down quickly, the Fed should consider raising interest rates. However, he also mentioned that the current monetary policy situation is favorable. Jefferson also mentioned that the wide application of artificial intelligence (AI) combined with the energy disturbance caused by the Iran war has put the Fed's policy in a difficult balancing situation.
