Companies Registry of Hong Kong: Approximately 122,500 new local companies and companies registered through re-registration were registered in the first half of the year.

The statistics released by the Hong Kong Companies Registry today show that the total number of newly registered local companies and companies registered by way of continuation in the first half of 2026 is 122,481. As of the end of June this year, the total number of local companies and companies registered by way of continuation under the Companies Ordinance reached 1,609,720, a historic high. In the first half of 2026, a total of 903 non-Hong Kong companies established business premises in Hong Kong and registered under the Companies Ordinance. As of the end of June 2026, the total number of registered non-Hong Kong companies reached 16,014, also a historic high.
