1Password introduces Claude browser integration, supporting AI proxy secure access to account credentials.

On July 16th, the identity security company 1Password announced the launch of a browser integration called "1Password for Claude" targeting Anthropic's Claude. This integration allows Claude to access user login credentials stored in 1Password without needing to retrieve or store passwords, enabling tasks such as booking trips and managing accounts. 1Password also introduced "Agentic Mode," which automatically restricts AI agents to only access credentials authorized by the user when taking over the browser, preventing sensitive information exposure. The company stated that in the future, they will expand this framework to more browser AI agent platforms.
