WTO spokesperson responded to Caijing magazine: As of the end of March, there is still a shortfall of 127 million Swiss francs in WTO membership dues.
On the 15th, WTO spokesperson Dion, speaking at a press conference, told First Financial that according to the data reported by CBFA chairman and German WTO ambassador Heidecke at the General Council meeting, as of June 30 this year, the membership fee received exceeded 150 million Swiss francs, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%. "As of the end of March, the unpaid membership fee was 127 million Swiss francs, including 87 million Swiss francs for the year 2026," Dion said. He will review the implementation of the administrative measures in Annex B and submit a report in October. He plans to focus more on members and administrative measures and position them as a way to increase transparency rather than punishment. He also told reporters that he would not describe the current situation as a "crisis."
