Since the start of the summer transport season on July 1, 2026, Yunnan Railway has seen a peak in passenger flow. As of July 15, China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. had sent a total of 5.218 million passengers in the first 15 days of the summer holiday season. The passenger flow mainly consists of tourists, students, and people visiting relatives. Through passengers are mainly headed towards Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing and other directions, while the local passenger flow is concentrated in popular tourist destinations such as Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna, Shangri-La, and Puzhehei.
