American media: The US Department of Defense is currently studying military action plans against Cuba.
According to a report from the American network CBS on the 15th, several informed officials revealed that the military planners at the US Department of Defense have been studying a series of plans for military actions against Cuba in recent weeks, including an airborne assault operation led by the Army and executed by the 101st Airborne Division, involving the use of thousands of soldiers. The report states that at the end of last month, the US military held a briefing on operational concepts, discussing initial military action plans for specific missions. However, this does not mean that US President Trump or the Pentagon has decided to implement specific actions. The report also stated that the US State Department has further tightened financial sanctions against Cuba. US Secretary of State Rubio has emphasized multiple times that the US prefers to force Cuba to transition to a new government willing to implement economic reforms through diplomatic means. Officials interviewed by CBS also stated that, given the recent resumption of US military actions against Iran, it is currently unlikely to shift military focus to Cuba.
