Amazon's Leo reached an agreement with a South African company, expecting to launch satellite internet services next year.
Amazon's low-orbit satellite network, Leo, announced on July 15th that it has reached an agreement with Herotel, the largest fixed internet service provider in South Africa, to introduce satellite internet to the country through a new service called Evry. Evry is expected to be officially launched in 2027, providing network connections to residential users in South Africa. This is the first such agreement reached by Amazon Leo in Africa.
