TikTok e-commerce initiates specialized governance for complete electric bicycles and battery products.

On July 15th, Douyin e-commerce announced that it had initiated special governance measures for electric bicycles and batteries, and was conducting investigations and disposals for issues such as incomplete qualification information, excessive promotion, and suspected illegal modifications, in order to guide merchants and influencers to operate in compliance. Douyin e-commerce stated that recently, during routine inspections, the platform discovered that some operators were selling electric bicycles and batteries without submitting the required 3C compliance qualifications, promoting beyond national standards, and providing suspected illegally modified goods or services. In response to these issues, the platform will take actions such as removing products, temporarily closing stores, or permanently closing e-commerce privileges for violating merchants; and removing products, temporarily or permanently closing e-commerce privileges for violating influencers.
