The Ministry of Education holds a symposium on strengthening basic research work in universities.

On July 13th, the Ministry of Education held a seminar in Beijing to strengthen the basic research work of universities, emphasizing the need to thoroughly study and implement the important speeches by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the seminar on strengthening basic research, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, the Academician Conference, and the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology. It is necessary to give full play to the role of high-level research universities as main force in basic research, main position for talent cultivation, and major source of breakthroughs in science and technology. We should promote the development of education and technology talent in an integrated way, and focus on enhancing the ability of independent innovation in science and technology and the level of independent cultivation of innovative talents.
