Affected by the northward-moving monsoon trough, on July 15th, Guangdong's Zhuhai, Jiangmen, and Zhongshan experienced heavy rainfall, with many areas issuing red and orange alerts for heavy rain. On the 15th, Jiangmen City activated heavy rain alerts in multiple areas, with Xinhui Town upgrading to a red alert for heavy rain at 13:23, Taishan and Kaiping maintaining orange alerts for heavy rain, and Enping, Pengjiang, Jianghai, and Heshan activating yellow alerts for heavy rain. At 11:38 on the 15th, the Zhongshan Meteorological Observatory upgraded the heavy rain warning signals for Minzhong Street, Zhongshan Port Street, Nanlang Street, Cuiheng New Area, Banfu Town, Sanxiang Town, Shenwan Town, Gangkou Town, West Zone Street, Shiqi Street, Shaxi Town, Dayong Town, Nanqu Street, Dongqu Street, and Wuguishan Street to orange. From 2:00 on the 14th to 8:00 on the 15th, the average rainfall in Zhongshan City was 42.5 millimeters, with a maximum cumulative rainfall of 156.4 millimeters and a maximum hourly rainfall of 57.8 millimeters. The meteorological department reminds the public that heavy rainfall is frequent recently, so it is advisable to reduce outdoor activities as much as possible; areas with hills, slopes, and low-lying neighborhoods should guard against urban waterlogging and landslides, and avoid driving through flooded areas.
