Ecuador launches National Comprehensive Security Plan to combat organized crime.

On July 14th local time, the government of Ecuador announced that President Novoa had signed Executive Order No. 448, establishing the "National Comprehensive Security Plan 2025-2029" as a national public policy, with the priority task of combating and dismantling organized armed groups. The announcement stated that this plan for the first time integrates all national institutions into a unified security strategic framework, focusing on addressing internal armed conflicts, restoring national control over the territory, enhancing national security capabilities, and combating organized crime with quantifiable objectives and accountability mechanisms.
