Nio's new battery research and development center project lands in Jiading, Shanghai.

According to the official microblog of Jiading District in Shanghai, in 2026, NIO will establish a new battery R&D base project in Jiading, focusing on the research and development of next-generation power batteries. The project is scheduled to start construction in the second half of this year, and once completed, it will have 31 lithium battery testing laboratories, 1 lithium-ion cell trial production line, and 1 battery pack assembly line.
