On the morning of July 11th, Li Keqiang, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China and Premier of the State Council, held talks with Pak Pong Ju, member of the Central Political Bureau of the Workers' Party of Korea, Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, and Prime Minister of the Cabinet, who is on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Keqiang said that China and North Korea are friendly neighbors with shared destiny and mutual assistance. Earlier last month, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited North Korea for a state visit and reached a series of important consensus with Chairman Kim Jong-un on deepening the China-North Korea relationship, providing strategic guidance together. Maintaining, consolidating, and developing China-North Korea relations is always the firm policy of the Chinese Party and government. China is willing to work with North Korea to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, uphold the spirit of the Sino-North Korean Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance, strengthen high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, better benefit the people of the two countries, and make positive contributions to regional and even global peace and development.
