Guangxi Binyang reports "large number of dead pigs on farms": It is expected to complete the harmless burial treatment work by July 11th.
The official WeChat public account "Binyang Release" of the Publicity Department of the Binyang County Committee announced late night on July 9 that, due to the impact of Typhoon "Maysak" on July 10, a breeding farm in Wangling Town, Binyang County, suffered from internal flooding, resulting in the death of the raised pigs.
After the disaster, the local government and relevant departments evacuated the breeding staff for the first time, set up a cordon near the breeding farm, and arranged for personnel to be on duty 24 hours a day to prevent dead pigs from flowing out. Due to the deep water and inability to access the area, the dead pigs could not be salvaged, leading to some dead pigs floating inside the farm.
At noon on July 9, as the water level of the flooding receded slightly, the local government and the County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau immediately began disposal work. They organized professional personnel to carry out on-site disinfection work and simultaneously implemented on-site harmless burial of the dead pigs. Currently, large excavators have arrived on-site to carry out excavation work in strict accordance with technical requirements. It is expected that the harmless deep burial treatment work will be completed by July 11, while personnel will continue to be arranged for on-site duty at the pig farm.
Insurance companies also arrived on-site for inspection to ensure that the claim payments will be made as soon as possible, reducing the losses of the breeding households.
