The Ministry of Water Resources has launched a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Zhejiang and Fujian provinces.
According to forecasts, Typhoon Bailu will make landfall along the coast from Fuqing, Fujian to Wenling, Zhejiang on the evening of the 11th, and will continue to move northwest after landing. Due to the combined effects of Bailu and cold air, there will be widespread heavy rainfall in the eastern regions of China on July 11th and 12th, with some areas in central and northern Fujian, as well as central and southern Zhejiang, experiencing heavy rainstorms. The Minjiang, Oujiang, Qiantangjiang rivers and their tributaries will see significant rises in water levels, potentially leading to floods in the Minjiang and Oujiang rivers, while coastal tide gauges in Zhejiang and Fujian may exceed warning levels. There is also a high risk of flash floods in hilly areas. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Regulations for Flood Control and Drought Relief of the Ministry of Water Resources," the Ministry of Water Resources activated a Level IV emergency response for flood control in Zhejiang and Fujian provinces at 9am on July 10th.
