OpenAI executive Fei-Fei Li announced her resignation.
According to sources familiar with the matter, OpenAI's COO, Peggy Simo, plans to resign from her full-time position after a long sick leave. She informed all employees of this decision in an internal memo on Thursday, citing deteriorating health conditions and a longer-than-expected recovery period. She will transition to a part-time consultant role in the company. This personnel change is the latest adjustment in OpenAI's senior management team. The company is currently preparing for a highly anticipated IPO, which is expected to be completed this year, and is also striving to catch up with competitors like Ansoopa in the corporate customer business sector. Simo was appointed by CEO Sam Altman to oversee the two major departments of OpenAI's products and business. It was widely expected that she would take on more core management responsibilities after the company went public.
