Meta Platforms Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that Meta needs as much computing power as possible. However, in the situation where there is a shortage of computing power for AI development and operations, he is also considering whether renting out some AI infrastructure to external clients could create more value. Zuckerberg said in an interview: "Currently, the market values computing power very highly, and in some cases, it may be more profitable to rent it out rather than keep it for internal use, or consider similar transactions." Earlier this month, it was reported that Meta is planning to launch cloud computing services, hoping to generate revenue directly through the company's data centers and other computing partners. Zuckerberg said that the opportunity to develop cloud services "always exists, as long as we want to do it, we can do it anytime". However, he emphasized that this does not mean that Meta has overbuilt or has idle computing power. Zuckerberg said: "I don't know anyone in the industry who would think they have too much computing power." He added that Meta is currently using all of its computing resources.
