IDC: Global PC shipments in the second quarter fell by 4.9% year-on-year.
According to IDC data, in the second quarter of 2026, the global PC shipment volume decreased by 4.9% year-on-year to 68.2 million units, marking the first decline after nine consecutive quarters of growth. The continued shortage of memory chips is the main reason for this reversal, prompting manufacturers to stock up as early as possible. In the Chinese market, the PC shipment volume in the second quarter of 2026 was 9.92 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%, which was a decline compared to the previous year but performed better than the global trend. Despite the increase in memory prices, demand from commercial, government, and large enterprises remained strong.
