Typhoon "Meisak" makes landfall in Hainan

According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon "Maysak" landed on the coastal area of Yelin Town, Lingao Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province around 18:20 on July 3. Due to the influence of the peripheral circulation of Typhoon "Maysak", strong winds and rain will continue to affect the southwest of Hainan Island in the next 24 hours. It is reported that Typhoon "Maysak" is expected to move into the Beibu Gulf in the early morning of the 4th and make a second landfall on the coast of Guangxi to northern Vietnam on the evening of the 4th. Due to its impact, Guangxi will experience strong winds and rain from the 3rd to the 6th, with maximum gusts of 10 to 11 levels on the Beibu Gulf, and locally heavy rain in coastal and southern areas of Guangxi. At present, Guangxi has raised its response to major meteorological disasters to level III.
