State Council: Speed up the transition of new electricity consumption to be covered by new clean energy electricity.

The State Council has issued the "Beautiful China Construction 15th Five-Year Plan", in which it is mentioned that actively and steadily promoting and achieving carbon peaking. Implementing the national strategy for actively responding to climate change, implementing national voluntary contributions, solidly promoting carbon peaking actions, and comprehensively implementing the dual control system for carbon emissions total amount and intensity. Adhering to the development of multiple energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro, etc., carrying out in-depth energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformation and coal control and reduction, reasonably controlling the installed capacity and power generation of coal-fired electricity, comprehensively increasing the proportion of renewable energy electricity consumption, and accelerating the coverage of new electricity consumption by new clean energy electricity. Implementing a package of major projects to address climate change, promoting the development of carbon capture, utilization, and storage technology and demonstration project construction.
