QTS, a subsidiary of Blackstone Group, is abandoning its construction plans for a data center campus in Virginia, delivering a victory to local residents who have been opposing the project for years. The data center developer had originally planned to develop over 800 acres of land in Prince William County, Northern Virginia, as a key component of one of the world's largest tech corridors. According to sources, recent judicial rulings and increasing regulatory obstacles have led QTS management to determine that continuing with the litigation is no longer worthwhile.
