Hainan Province's conference on the deployment of defense against tropical depressions is convened.

According to the meteorological forecast, the tropical disturbance in the South China Sea developed into a tropical depression on the morning of July 1st. In the afternoon of July 1st, a video conference on defense against tropical depression was held in Hainan Province to study and implement the spirit of the Central Political Bureau meeting held on June 30th, analyze and assess the development trend of the tropical depression, and mobilize and deploy the next steps of work. The Provincial Party Secretary Feng Fei and Governor Liu Xiaoming respectively gave instructions on flood and wind prevention work. In his instructions, Feng Fei emphasized the need to closely monitor the typhoon's movement, timely forecast and warning, and strengthen precautions. It is necessary to implement effective maritime prevention measures, with a focus on cities and counties as well as relevant departments paying more attention to preventing heavy rainfall, especially the risks of landslides, reservoirs, rivers, floods on bridges, construction sites, urban waterlogging, and other risks. In his instructions, Governor Liu Xiaoming pointed out the need to strengthen forecasting and early warning, guide cities and counties as well as various departments in fulfilling their responsibilities, and prepare for prevention, especially ensuring safety in maritime navigation and water tourism, as well as in scenic areas, reservoirs, disaster-prone areas, low-lying flood-prone areas, dilapidated buildings, and other vulnerable areas.
