Starting from January 2028, PlayStation's new games will no longer be released in physical disc versions.

PlayStation announced on July 1st local time that starting January 2028, all new games released on the PlayStation console will no longer be available in physical disc format, and will only be sold in digital format at PlayStation Store and retailers. This adjustment will not affect games that have already been released or will be released in disc format before January 2028.
