A survey of 155 founders conducted by startup consultancy DutchBasecamp in collaboration with a technology lobbying association revealed that approximately 79% of tech entrepreneurs stated that European regulations have had a significant impact on their businesses in the past year. DutchBasecamp's Managing Director, Masha Moisseyeva, stated: "When 45% of respondents have had to pause or cancel services in the past year, 58% have delayed entering another EU market, and 44% have lost or delayed deals, the urgent need for simplified regulations is no longer a theoretical debate about EU competitiveness." The study was released in collaboration with the technology lobbying group, Computer and Communications Industry Association, of which Google and Apple are members. The report comes at a time when the EU is working to simplify its complex technological rules for businesses.
