Strengthening the control of water pollution emissions from the textile industry, two departments jointly issued industry standards.
The Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the State Administration of Market Supervision recently jointly issued the "Textile Industry Water Pollutant Emission Standards", further strengthening the control of water pollutant emissions in the textile industry, preventing and controlling environmental risks, and guiding the green transformation of the textile industry. The textile industry is a traditional advantageous industry in China, with approximately 149,000 textile enterprises nationwide, of which 86% are small and medium-sized enterprises with uneven pollution control capabilities. The new standards integrate the emission standards of the four industries of textile dyeing and finishing, spinning and silk, wool spinning, and linen spinning, and add sub-industries such as chemical fiber weaving and industrial textiles to achieve full coverage of the textile industry. To strengthen water ecological risk prevention and control, a new acute toxicity index for zebrafish eggs has been added. At the same time, it promotes the separation of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage at the source in the textile industry, guides enterprises to relocate from cities to industrial parks, and promotes systematic pollution reduction and carbon reduction in industrial parks.
