Ministry of Commerce: China's total service import and export from January to May reached 3,094.8 billion yuan, an increase of 6% year-on-year.
According to the Securities Times APP, on July 1st, the person in charge of the Department of Commerce's Trade in Services Division introduced the development of service trade in January-May 2026. In January-May 2026, the total amount of China's service imports and exports was 3,099.48 billion yuan (RMB), a year-on-year increase of 6%. Among them, exports were 1,230.46 billion yuan, an increase of 15.9%; imports were 1,869.02 billion yuan, an increase of 0.4%. The service trade deficit was 638.56 billion yuan, a decrease of 160.72 billion yuan compared to the same period last year. The main characteristics were the rapid growth of knowledge-intensive service exports, as well as the rapid growth of travel service exports and transportation service imports.
