Alphabet's Google will provide professional artificial intelligence models from software company Sandbox AQ through its cloud services platform. This move aims to expand the application of relevant technologies for enterprises and research institutions, which are specifically designed to accelerate drug research, material science, and semiconductor manufacturing. Google will integrate Sandbox AQ's so-called "large quant models" into its cloud marketplace, allowing researchers to combine Google's Gemini language model with AI systems trained on scientific equations and lab data. Unlike large language models that excel in generating text, large quant models are trained on numerical data and aim to assist in solving challenges in the fields of chemistry, biology, and physics.
