Nomura: Due to the impact of restructuring costs, LG Display's second quarter losses may exceed expectations.
Nomura's Eon Hwang and YJ Kim stated that due to the one-time costs of business restructuring, LG Display's second quarter loss may exceed market expectations. Nomura analysts estimate that the South Korean flat panel display manufacturer's operating loss for the period of April to June could be around 96 billion Korean won, while the market average expectation is a loss of 55 billion Korean won. They mentioned that excluding one-time costs, the company's main business may see some improvement. They also added that driven by the World Cup soccer tournament, sales of organic light-emitting diode TV panels in the second quarter may increase by 9.7% compared to the same period last year, and the shipment volume of OLED displays may surge by 86%.
