AI short plays have become mainstream in the industry, and the cost of traffic continues to rise.
Relying on rapidly advancing video generation models and efficient intelligent production tools, the domestic short drama industry is rapidly becoming "AI-ized". A significant sign is that AI short dramas have now become the absolute mainstream of the industry. Data provided by the industry authority research institution DataEye JuChaCha to Securities Times reporters shows that in the first quarter of this year, approximately 128,000 short dramas were launched in the domestic industry, with AI short dramas accounting for over 95%. On the other hand, the explosive production capacity of AI short dramas has intensified the competition for industry traffic, and the cost of traffic continues to rise. "The production cost of AI short dramas has decreased by about 90%, but the cost of traffic has increased by more than 100% year-on-year. At the same time, revenue has declined by over 50%," said Lin Qiwen, vice president of DataEye JuChaCha, to Securities Times reporters.
